FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MotorVision Awarded NASA SBIR Phase I to Advance AI-Driven Predictive Maintenance for Sustainable Aviation The VECTOR program will adapt MotorVision’s non-invasive sensing, electrical monitoring and TrueSight TelematiX analytics technologies to support health monitoring of next-generation electric, hybrid-electric and alternative-fuel aircraft systems OWINGSVILLE, Ky. — August 10, 2026 — MotorVision Inc., an industrial technology company developing advanced sensing, predictive maintenance and AI-enabled operational intelligence solutions, today announced that it has been awarded a NASA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I project to advance a new aviation-focused health monitoring platform known as VECTOR — Vibration, Electrical, and Condition Tracking for Operational Reliability. The award represents a significant expansion of MotorVision’s technology platform from industrial equipment monitoring into advanced aerospace applications, including next-generation hybrid-electric, fully electric and alternative-fuel aircraft platforms. Under the NASA SBIR project, MotorVision will adapt several technologies from its existing product portfolio to develop a scalable, non-invasive predictive maintenance and health management architecture for sustainable aviation systems while incorporating capable governmental security and control measures. VECTOR is designed to monitor the increasingly interconnected electrical, mechanical, thermal and structural systems found aboard emerging aircraft systems without requiring invasive integration into flight-critical control systems. The project will incorporate MotorVision technologies including its MotiX sensing platform, and the TrueSight TelematiX IIoT and analytics platform. Together, these technologies are intended to provide a modular sensing and analytics architecture capable of monitoring critical aircraft systems such as: • Electric propulsion and rotating equipment • Electrical distribution and power systems • Structural systems • Thermal management systems • Environmental conditions • Cryogenic and alternative-fuel infrastructure Phase I of the VECTOR program will focus on defining aviation-specific sensing requirements, evaluating hardware integration approaches, collecting representative operational datasets and developing predictive maintenance algorithms using vibration, thermal, environmental and electrical signature analysis. The program will place particular emphasis on FFT-based spectral analysis, multi-modal sensor fusion, anomaly detection and AI-assisted analytics to identify degradation, developing faults and abnormal operating conditions before they result in more significant system failures. Sustainable aviation introduces new reliability challenges as propulsion, electrical, structural and thermal systems become increasingly interconnected. These systems can also operate within electrically “noisy” environments where extracting meaningful condition data can be difficult but also critical. Traditional monitoring approaches may require direct integration with aircraft systems or additional instrumentation that increases engineering, certification and implementation complexity. VECTOR is being developed around a different philosophy: creating a retrofit-capable, non-invasive sensing architecture capable of observing equipment and subsystem health while minimizing the need to modify flight-critical systems. “Being selected for this NASA SBIR project represents an important milestone for MotorVision,” said Dr. Elijah Jensen, President of MotorVision Inc. “We originally developed our sensing and analytics technologies around the idea that organizations should be able to understand what is happening inside critical equipment without fundamentally changing the equipment itself. VECTOR gives us the opportunity to explore how that same philosophy can be applied to some of the most advanced aviation systems being developed today.” The NASA project is expected to advance VECTOR from an estimated Technology Readiness Level of approximately TRL 3 toward TRL 5, creating the foundation for subsequent development, testing and potential aviation applications. From the Factory Floor to Advanced Aerospace MotorVision's underlying technology platform was initially developed to solve reliability and operational visibility challenges found in manufacturing and industrial environments. The company combines distributed sensor technologies with its TrueSight TelematiX Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform to collect, analyze and contextualize equipment condition and operational data. The VECTOR program extends that architecture into another environment where reliability, early fault detection and equipment health intelligence are critically important. Rather than developing an entirely separate aerospace technology stack, MotorVision intends to leverage and adapt technologies already in use and being developed across its broader ecosystem. That approach could ultimately enable advances created through the VECTOR program to strengthen both MotorVision's aviation capabilities and its commercial industrial technology portfolio. “This project demonstrates the broader potential of the technology platform we have been building at MotorVision,” said Justin DeWitt, EVP of Business Development for MotorVision. “Predictive maintenance is only one piece of the opportunity. Our long-term objective is to create an intelligence layer capable of understanding equipment condition, electrical behavior, environmental conditions and operational performance together. The NASA SBIR gives our engineering team the opportunity to apply that architecture to an extraordinarily demanding technology environment with a partnership that supports our focus of applying next gen smart monitoring to key critical operations.” Building the Foundation for AI-Enabled Operational Intelligence VECTOR also aligns with MotorVision's broader development strategy around industrial artificial intelligence and autonomous operational analytics. MotorVision is developing technologies intended to move equipment monitoring beyond traditional dashboards and threshold-based alarms toward systems capable of recognizing patterns across multiple data sources, identifying anomalies and ultimately helping operators determine where intervention may be required, when and why. The datasets and analytical methods developed through VECTOR are expected to contribute to MotorVision's continued research into multi-modal sensor fusion, automated condition assessment and AI-assisted decision support. About VECTOR VECTOR — Vibration, Electrical, and Condition Tracking for Operational Reliability — is MotorVision's proposed aviation health monitoring architecture designed for hybrid-electric, fully electric and alternative-fuel aircraft platforms. VECTOR combines non-invasive sensing, vibration analysis, electrical signature monitoring, environmental sensing and advanced analytics to help identify equipment degradation and developing fault conditions across critical aircraft systems allowing near real-time visibility across aviation fleet operations. The NASA SBIR Phase I program will evaluate the technologies, sensing architecture, datasets and analytical approaches required to advance VECTOR toward higher levels of technology readiness.
